N52: Imperial Jasper w/Charoite:
The pale purple of the Imperial Jasper cabachon is wrapped in silver wire and accented with pale charoite rondelles and silver spacers.
Imperial Jasper is not a common form of jasper, occurring only occassionally.
Charoite is an unsual mineral and of rare occurence. Charoite is found in only one location - along the Chary River at Aldan in Russia. Charoite is so unusual looking with its chatoyancy and strange looking strands of fibrous material that it is often mistaken for a synthetic.
